The NDCL Theatre Department is bringing a chilling classic to life this November with a modern spin of Dracula. “You should come see our production of Dracula because it is scary, bloody, and mysterious,” Mr. Bond shares. The production promises an action-packed, one-of-a-kind take on the legendary vampire tale. Unlike most stagings of Dracula, this version will be performed in a One Act with no intermissions, creating a fast-paced, immersive experience for all. The language and characters have been updated in a fresh twist, the famous vampire hunter Van Helsing will be portrayed by a woman rather than by a man.
Bringing the story’s danger and darkness to life has not been without its challenges. The cast has worked extensively on stage combat and special effects, aiming to make every fight scene look convincing while keeping the actors’ safety a main priority.
For the students, the show offers more than just thrills. It’s a chance to support classmates while also enjoying a performance that’s spooky, exciting, and under an hour long–perfect for capturing the Halloween spirit. Whether you’re a fan of the gothic classic or just looking for a fun night out, Dracula is sure to deliver a performance full of suspense, surprises, and plenty of bite.
Performances will run Friday, November 7th at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 8th at 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 9th at 2 p.m. in the O’Brien Center (OBC).
This play will be general admission seating where audience members may purchase tickets either online or at the door. Students are free with NDCL Student I.D.
