Please welcome our new yearbook editors for your 2024-2025 school year! After a lot of hard work and determination, our seven editors were chosen. The final list of the senior editors consists of Joy English, Ella Buener, Lila Baeslach, Christiana, Paul, Ava Abounader, Mary Pepoy, and Tucker Pason! Overall, these editors will work together this school year to make sure the important memories of this year are never forgotten. In the end, they will create a yearbook to remember, informational articles, and entertaining photography for social media (@themane_ndcl on instagram).
Our editors, however, each hold their own specific roles in order to achieve the overall goals of creating a memorable yearbook and managing The Mane! To begin, our Editor in Chief for this year’s newsletter is Joy English! Joy is in charge of writing and planning the weekly articles you are reading right now! Each week, Joy will brainstorm a few ideas or topics to write about, and follow through with the execution. She can also assign other editors or staff to write an article themselves and give everyone a chance to write. Joy is excited to take on this new responsibility for her senior year!
The next editor is Christiana Paul, the Producer of the Yearbook! Christiana will be working hard to ensure that the theme and overall layout of the book remains consistent. As we move through this year, Christiana will thoroughly continue to develop specific plans and creative ideas that will make this yearbook different from any before. Christiana is excited to work on this school year’s yearbook that showcases all of the student memories and activities!
The following editor is Ava Abounader. Ava is the Editor-in-Chief of this year’s yearbook. Ava will take the lead when it comes to creating, organizing, and overall executing this year’s yearbook. A part of her job will be writing captions, or assigning her peers to write captions for the pictures in the yearbook and placing them in a format or order that makes the most sense, while also incorporating creativity. She is so excited to take on her role and represent the school’s amazing atmosphere through a book that represents everyone.
The next editor is Ella Buener, or the Director of Operations. Her focus is on the NDCL social media. Ella is the main controller of “The Mane” Instagram. She looks for creative ways to share the latest up-to-date news, photos, and more. The Mane also aims to include exclusive sport and club highlights. Ella wants the NDCL community to know, if you ever have something new you would like to see on The Mane, don’t hesitate to reach out! Ella is ecstatic to share events with the greater community through social media!
Next up is Tucker Pason, the Director of Photography. Tucker manages everything related with photography whether that is taking photos of events or determining which are used and posted. He works with a crew of people who help him from all around the school. Tucker attends most sporting events and school activities to capture these memories in photo form. He actively participates in the photo aspect of the yearbook and instagram. Tucker is appreciative of this opportunity and all of those who surround him positively.
To continue, our next editor, Lila Baeshlach, is the Art Director. Lila is in charge of every particular artistic choice throughout the yearbook. Specifically, she will lead in designing each page within the book as well as the cover. If editors need any advice regarding picture layouts, designs, or anything else of that sort, they will go to Lila for artistic advice. Lila is thrilled that she is able to let her artistic abilities flourish in the yearbook this year.
Last but not least, our assistant editor this year is Mary Pepoy! Mary will help all of the other editors to achieve the best yearbook possible and provide the necessary details for every individual project the editors face. She will be there to assist her peers and give them feedback when needed Mary is super thankful for this opportunity, and carries her role with pride.
