Happy Halloween

Nina DePasquale

Halloween at NDCL is a unique tradition. The rule carried on for many years is that only seniors get to dress up on Halloween.

Underclassmen look forward to this day from when they are freshmen until the day they finally get to be the ones dressing up. Since it is anticipated for three years, the seniors always show up with the most creative costumes imaginable. This year, NDCL Halloween lived up to the expectation set year after year. Walking through the halls, you would have seen Guy Fieri, Steve Harvey, Gru and Vector, a bunch of Smurfs, bananas with one gorilla, the Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rapunzel, a crab, Jake from State Farm, and not only seen Barney, but you also heard the Barney theme song all day long. The list continues because of how many ideas the 2023 class came up with. The dedication was there on the 31st. It is often forgotten that these kids have to sit in every block that day in their costumes…whether that be a fake mustache and suit or an entire blow-up, the dedication is shown through being able to stay dressed up all day. As a senior, I know firsthand that the anticipation was worth it. Knowing that you only get to do that once allows everyone to get more creative than ever and be free of all embarrassment for the entire day. Everyone was so energetic, and the energy was different than any other day here at NDCL, and that is meant in the most positive way possible. I do not doubt that the class of 2024 will carry on this tradition to its fullest potential.
