Spirit Week 2025 was, without a doubt, one to remember. Last week was full of an emotional rollercoaster of excitement, games, anticipation, yummy snacks, collaborative dress down themes, and even some disappointment. School spirit was clearly at an ultimate high throughout each of the grades as everyone dressed in theme and contributed to the coin war. Before the week began, the donation goal for Miracle league was set at $1,000 in total. As the week went on and grades got heated, however, the final donation total was announced at the rally at the end of the week as over $5,000! More than five times our original goal! Way to go Lions!
Dress down themes were clearly no joke this year. Monday started off with the classic pajama day and the hallways were filled with students in their most comfortable clothes! The majority of NDCL students participated in this theme for this year’s spirit week. Following this, Tuesday’s theme took a turn and students wore their favorite jerseys to school to represent their favorite team or player. The colors of all shades, representing many teams and sports proved that our students carry pride and hope for their team. Wednesday’s dress down theme allowed for all grades to release their inner babies, teens, adults, and senior citizens. Students were told to dress their age, however, in reverse. For example, seniors dressed up as babies and freshmen as senior citizens! Thursday’s mass led by Father Bearer was much needed for relaxation and a reality check. The community had taken a break away from all the chaos and rivalry to come together as one and celebrate the one who created us as one, God. Finally, after everyone was refreshed from mass, Friday’s rally brought the chaos and competition back to the school. All grades participated in numerous games that included close calls, lots of cheering, gasps, laughs, and adrenaline.
In the end, the winning grade was announced at the sophomores class of 2027 breaking the six year record of winning seniors! The sophomores showed nothing but school spirit, resilience, and strength throughout the whole week. Total coin war was overpowered by the sophomores as well despite the hundreds of dollars of cash in their jar that would have taken away points from their coins. In conclusion, the NDCL Community is so grateful to have had the opportunity to achieve all the activities and games that we did. We hope every student had as much fun as we did!
