Homecoming Week!
September 16, 2022
The first day of homecoming week, Monday, was pajama day. The students enjoyed a relaxing movie day dressed in their favorite pajamas. They also received their favorite candy at lunchtime. The next day was Tuesday or, dress like, a tourist day. The students dressed in their best beach and adventure wear. They enjoyed lemon ice at lunch. Wednesday was Mass in McGary Gym, focusing on the students’ appreciation for each other. They wore their uniform and celebrated as a school God’s greatness that he has in their lives. They were seeing the student body dressed up as either paparazzi or their favorite celebrities on Thursday, which had to be the most fun theme of the week. The students participated in a very entertaining bingo game during their lunch blocks and had the opportunity to win a prize. The students flooded the halls with blue on Friday and brought that spirit to the football game.
All students and staff attended the pep rally in McGary gym. All fall sports and their captains were represented, announcing the homecoming king and queen, Noah Rogers and Jamie Graham. The lion’s football team had a good game on Friday. They fought hard and should be proud of their determination and strong mentality.
The dance took place on Saturday. The weather was perfect, and the students had an exciting time dancing and singing. As they entered the homecoming doors, everyone looked lovely in their suits and dresses. The night’s mood was entertaining as each student on the dance floor danced to the Cupid Shuffle and jumped up and down to Pitbull. The students enjoyed the dance seen in the amount of sweat all over the gym. At the same time, the decorations could have been focused on a little more, as it is the focus of the whole week. It could be agreed that the reason for such a fun homecoming was the students’ unmatched energy. Overall, we appreciated what we had been given. There should have been more decorations at the dance, and the week should have had more events to draw our student community together.
