NDCL Celebrates 35th with Stadium Re-dedication

NDCL TURNS 35

NDCL’s 35th anniversary year started with some significant improvements. Hard to ignore, the newly renovated lion stadium includes a new 1,400seat home grandstand, spirit wear shop, and permanent restrooms. A pretty significant change, considering we did not even have a turf field 35 years ago! Students also got to write their personalized glass jewels to put under the concrete of the new grandstand to keep their spirit there forever. This year, NDCL welcomes 709 students. Our first-year students come from 35 different elementary schools as we celebrate 35 years. NDCL’s 35th anniversary started smoothly, full of happiness and joy. Indeed, this year will set a massive foundation for the NDCL family for years and years to come.

STADIUM RE-DEDICATION

On August twenty-fourth, Lion Stadium was rededicated. NDA and Cathedral Latin alums gathered as NDCL’s newest project was revealed with hors d’oeuvres and drinks at the recent alumni patio. Dr. Bates said, “We wanted our facility to match the quality of programs at NDCL.” And indeed, they do. With the new stadium, we gained new pristine bathrooms, a concession stand, a spirit store, an entry plaza, a ticket stand, a 1400-seat grandstand, and a press box. At the end of the presentation, an original cornerstone from Cathedral Latin was revealed. Its new home is the entrance of Lion Stadium and will mark a touchstone for generations to come of Lion athletes and fans. NDCL’s trusted contractor Jim Lawler noted, “We enjoy working here; it’s a labor of love. This is a great place, and we hope to enjoy it for years.” This reinduction marks a new beginning for NDCL lions.
