Are you undecided on what Seasonal Halloween cereal to get? Well, here are my rankings of some. I tasted Carmela Creeper, Halloween Crunch, and Reese’s Puffs Bats.
I started with my least favorite, General Mills Reese’s Puffs Bats. I know this is a controversial choice, but here are my reasons. I did it properly and tried this cereal as my midnight snack to satisfy my leftover hunger after dinner. I poured my cereal first, obviously, and followed with 1% milk. I dug my spoon in and began testing the scoopability. The scoop is rated 7/10, choppy but smooth. The smell of peanut butter instantly filled the room, and I took my first bite. I kept on taking small and slow bites to make sure I was getting every note of the different flavors. Except there is just one flavor: peanut butter. But it’s peanut butter in a way where you can’t taste anything else. I couldn’t even taste the milk. The peanut butter completely overpowered the whole point of cereal, to taste the combination of cereal and milk. I apologize if you disagree with me making Reese’s cereal the worst. I know the popularity of Reese’s peanut butter cup candy, but in my eyes, it should not be a cereal. It should remain a delicious milk chocolate cup filled with rich, creamy peanut butter, not a crunchy, air-filled, peanut butter-flavored cereal.
Next on my list is the new member of the Halloween cereals, General Mill’s Carmela Creeper. This is a sister cereal to the classic Boo Berry, Count Chocula, and Franken Berry cereals. Personally, Carmela Creeper was a refreshing change of pace from the traditional berry and chocolate flavors, which is why it’s second on my list. This cereal is very seasonal and flavorful with a caramel apple theme. But everything must be good in moderation; I found that the caramel flavor was just a little too much for my liking, but if you love caramel and like your cereal VERY sweet, this is the one for you.
Last but not least is my favorite out of the three, Halloween Crunch. When I first tried this, I did not have high hopes because it was a Halloween edition of the famous Cap’n Crunch. I expected simply the original cereal but made festive by food dies, but as I swirled it around in my mouth and chewed it down, I knew that it was by far better than the rest. It had the crunchy, airy texture of Cap’n Crunch but a whole new flavor that I can only describe as Halloween. The cereal also turns milk green, which adds to the autumnal, spooky feel.
So, all in all, I think that Halloween Crunch is the best cereal, with Carmela Creeper following it and Reese’s Puffs Bats coming in a close third. These all had significantly fallen, and we can enjoy Halloween-like tastes this time of year. I would one hundred percent recommend all three! Happy Halloween, NDCL!
